A centenarian in touch with the times seeks like-minded company for celebration

Finland is celebrating its 100th anniversary all over the world. Here in Estonia the celebrations are particularly conspicuous: Estonia is an important neighbour for Finland. Our Institute is happy and proud to bring to you this year’s biggest centenary events that we have organised together with numerous partners.

“Together” is an overarching theme for the whole centenary programme. The main event of the year – the Finland 100 concert – will see both countries’ musicians performing together. The joint Finnish/Estonian exhibition “100 Objects from Finland” will be travelling to another three countries in addition to Finland and Estonia, and the online version of the exhibition will be made available in thirteen languages. To top it all off, we are inviting everybody in Estonia and Finland to take part in a photography contest to capture images that represent the ideas they have about their 100-year-old neighbours – Estonia will be celebrating its centenary only 11 weeks after Finland.

We hope to see you at our celebrations!
